Cana-chan, I still haven’t processed the news, but I knew I’d be remiss if I didn’t share how bright and warm you were. I remember when I transferred to Calle and Lisa introduced me to you & the gang. You welcomed me with such warmth and even if my Japanese was trash, you were so patient with me. You had a sense of humor that was out of this world & you never failed to make me laugh. Throughout high school, you were one of the few constants and although we’ve since drifted, I’m so honored to have been your friend as we grew up to become semi-adults. When I was still on insta, I really enjoyed keeping up with you through posts/stories but now, I just wish I took the step further to chat. Anyway, thank you for being such a ray of sunshine to everyone you came across. You are truly missed. Rest in peace, shine bright.
Our deepest condolences to the family, both in Korea and the US.

I was so sad to hear the news. Canako touched so many lives, so many blessed for having known her. Words aren't enough. She will be missed, and I hope her family can find peace and comfort soon.

I am deeply saddened to hear that Canako has left us too soon. I remember Canako as being incredibly kind and patient. She was intentional and thoughtful. She was a great friend and always put in the effort to maintain contact and sustain the friendship. I remember she would go out of her way to make sure we saw each other when she visited the US many years ago. I'm sad that the last time I saw her was so many years ago. I will always keep her in my thoughts. May she rest in peace.

I… had to think a lot before writing this.. it took me a lot of time... There are so many words that can’t describe you enough but here are a few: Canako, you were a great teacher, an amazing co-worker. I am pretty sure that you were also a wonderful wife to your husband, a loving mother to your baby, a thoughtful daughter to your parents, an indispensable family member, and a supportive friend. You had a beautiful soul, and there were so many things that I learned from you. You were and are still loved by many. I will miss you deeply. Rest in peace my friend.
